44 year old male returning to Europe in the middle of its coldest winter on record cos he’s really sick of Australia’s unending sunshine, dead brown grass, heat rash on his driving arm, absence of rain for months on end and being eaten by flies.
First snow bank he sees in Europe he is diving into it.
He’s also taking his mum for her 70th birthday. She is less thrilled about the cold.
Update: Sep 10

My favourite moment of the holiday
I discovered my love for travelling while overseas and now intend to live elsewhere.
The blog continues while that all comes together.
Next stop: USA November.
Hey Neigel, have loved reading about your exploits. Did you go to evensong in the Exeter Chapel, did you find the front door I told you about. Have you been to stonehenge. Have you been on the London bus tour of London and did you go into Windsor castle. Did you see any royalty. Your life is way more exciting than mine. I am just working away in the west combatting bad mad people. Had one particular lady whose family is notorious from Mile End, sitting on the bonnet of the car screaming obscenities at us locked in the car. There are three positions in the Adelaide Hills, Annie is now CPC, Michael is leaving and I dont know who the last one is. Shall we go back do you think. Can you survive on more days at work and less money. I dont think so. How are you coping with the cold. We are starting to get the autumn chill up here in the hills. So it wont be long before we are wearing scarves, gloves and drinking hot cups of scottish coffee. Footy(real footy) is starting soon and we have just had the rugby sevens here in Adelaide which was a lot of fun. When do you get back to the land of Oz. Bet you cant wait. Gotta go know, see you soon, love Anne
Isn’t she completely gorgeous.
you wouldn’t know she writes to me on my email as well, would you?!
you are gorgeous Anne Dunn.
As for where Im gonna work… you know…. Im honest to God not sure any more. It’s such a big world!
Hi Nige, Kerrie here.Thought I would send you another note, did you get my first one? Im not sure if anyone has told you, but that bastard Mike Rann has managed to hold on to the position of premier, though it was close and I am sure the alp have heard the people loud and clear, but not sure if it will do any good. The best part of the election is that lomax smith was ousted!!!! It was a minor victory.
I have loved reading your ramblings and the comments from friends.I didnt know you were sooo popular. How long before you are home? Will you be back for the 3day event of the year that is “Jo and Mardis 50th long weekend” They have another full programme organised, and it would be a chance for you to reprise the James Bond suit!
Are you coming back to the bin, or did you resign before you went away?Hope you have solved the comic dilemma?
Gotta fly, love you mean it …Kerrie x
Hey there Nige, does that sound yankee. Have just a good read of your Gullivers travel. Hope you havent been tied down and tickled. Enough of that, lets move on. KB also had a mini birthday party last night, hobbled in with a broken toe and is now on work cover. She has managed to extend her April 7th birthday into nearly a week. Today was my last day in the west – anti Disneyland and I will be back with Anni next week. Dear Anni looked stressed last night. Things have fallen apart in Mt B. What have we done thats exciting. Clare races on Easter Sat. harrowing the horses paddock on Easter Monday, swimming in the pool and then almost getting drowned driving to work Tuesday morning. Buckets and buckets of water everywhere. Where are you going from here and when will you be back home. Cant wait for the slide evening. Pete says hullo, Love Anne
